Graduation requires successful completion of a minimum of 26 academic credits in grades 9 through 12.
The credits will be distributed as follows:
o Four credits in English, with major concentration in composition and literature.
o Four credits in mathematics. These credits must be Algebra I and higher-level mathematics courses.
o Three or four credits in science, two of which must have a laboratory component.
o Three or four credits in Social Studies.
o One-half credit in Health and Life Management.
o One-half credit in a Performing Art.
o One-half credit in a Practical Art.
o One credit in physical education to include assessment, improvement, and maintenance of personal fitness.
o Elective credits (maximum 6 1⁄2)
o Four credits in Biblical Studies.
o Two credits in Foreign Language (consecutive years/same language).
In order to be considered Valedictorian or Salutatorian of Evangelical Christian School a student must meet the following requirements:
o Must be a student at ECS for at least two years.
o Only courses taken at ECS will be used to calculate.
o Must qualify as a Sentinel Scholar at the Summa Cum Laude level.
Students must have a minimum of 26 credits and accumulative grade point average of 2.0 in order to graduate from ECS. Students with fewer than 26 credits and/or who do not have a 2.0 cumulative GPA will not receive a diploma.
