Reunions and Events

25th Reunion of Class of 1984
Dr. John Hunte, led his graduating class of 1984, on a tour of ECS to kick off it's 25th reunion. Many hours of work, led by Kirby Noon Delozier and Lanise Clark Walters, went into the  planning of the weekend. Festivities began  with the alumni getting reacquainted as they traveled through the school halls, many of which they had never tread before. Lunch followed afterwards at Sonny's Bar-b-que. The group was reunited  in the evening at Stone Wood Grill for the official homecoming banquet.
Spouses and children, some of them recent ECS graduates, and a couple of other alumni joined the group for dinner.  ECS memorabilia adorned the wall including letter jackets and graduation robes. The dessert even had everyone's senior picture on it. All agreed that they  had a great  time reminiscing and are looking to number 30.

The class of 1988 celebrated its twenty-year high school reunion in the small coastal Georgia town of St. Mary's on the weekend of June 13-15, 2008. Those coming from out of town stayed at the Spencer House Inn, a cozy bend and breakfast.  After settling in, everyone took golf cart rides just down the street to the home of ECS alumni, Chris and Barbara Hart, where they spent the evening getting reacquainted and reliving old school memories.

Saturday found the old friends on Cumberland Island, where they spent the day exploring ruins, walking the beach, playing horse shoes, hunting for sharks teeth, and riding jet skis.  They even saw Cumberland's famous wild horses and a Whale!  The weather was perfect all day.  After dinner at a local seafood restaurant, everyone returned to the Hart's where they again reminisced until the early morning hours.

Sunday, after breakfast, “the boys” went on a private, alumni-guided tour of an active Trident Submarine at Kingsbay Naval Sub Base, the USS Tennessee. After meeting up again with the women for lunch at Cracker Barrel, they all said their goodbyes with much sadness, and promises to get together again in the near future. The details for the event were aptly handled by Chris and Barb Hart who live in St. Mary's. Chris is career Navy.

Between all of the families at the reunion, there is a total of 17 children. Perhaps some will make their way back to Fort Myers and ECS to become second generation Sentinels!!  We encourage all of you ECS alumni to either attend the all school reunions which we will try to have often or get together with your classmates and plan your own. We'll help you get the word out.
