Athletic Physicals

Tuesday, May 12 – Athletic Physical 

Location: Beacon campus gymnasium

Time: Doors will open at 4:30pm. Physicals will begin by 5:00pm

NEW ECG/EKG REQUIREMENT

Beginning July 1, 2026, ALL incoming 9th graders along with any rising 10-12th graders who have not yet participated in FHSAA sports must complete an EL1 Form. An ECG completed on or after July 1, 2024 will satisfy this requirement

This new ECG requirement is in addition to the other eligibility requirements already in place – all eligibility requirements will be submitted on the Home Campus eligibility portal for 2026-2027 when it opens. An email will be sent once the portal is opened for next school year.

Please read the scenarios below for more information on what is required for your child as of July 1, 2026.

1. My child was in 9th – 11th grade during the 2025-2026 school year and participated on a sports team at ECS

If your child is currently in 9-11th grade and was on one of our FHSAA sport teams this year, then your child is strongly encouraged to have an electrocardiogram (ECG) completed but it will not be required for his/her eligibility.

2. My child was in 9th – 11th grade during the 2025-2026 school year but DID NOT participate on a sports team at ECS

If your child was not on an FHSAA team this year but would like to try out for a team next year, then an EL1 Form must be submitted for the 2026-2027 school year.

3. My child is currently in 8th grade

All current 8th graders who wish to try-out for an FHSAA team next year will be required to complete the EL1 Form.

4. My child is currently in 5th thru 7th grade

Middle school students are strongly encouraged to have an electrocardiogram (ECG) completed but it will not be required for his/her eligibility until they reach high school.

Documentation:

EL1 Form – required for students who fall into options #2 and #3 above

EL1/2S Form – only required for final clearance if the student has an abnormal ECG

ME1 Form – only needed if your child is granted a medical exemption from the ECG requirement. Must be completed by your child’s physician.
