Coach David Westberry is a Southwest Florida native who developed his passion for basketball at Fort Myers High School, where he graduated in 2008. During his senior season, he led his team to both a District Championship and an LCAC Championship, earning All-Area Honors and recognition as a Top 5 finalist for the Southwest Florida Association of Basketball Mr. Basketball Award.

Following high school, Westberry continued his academic and athletic career at Warner University. As a four-year starter and team captain, he helped lead the program to the NAIA National Tournament during his senior season. He graduated in 2012 and immediately transitioned into coaching as an assistant coach at Warner, where he oversaw player development and recruiting.

From 2012 to 2018, Coach Westberry served as a Program Director and trainer with The National Basketball Academy, working extensively with the Indiana Pacers Youth Hoops Programs. In this role, he directed camps, clinics, and elite training opportunities both domestically and internationally, including events in Monaco, France, Spain, Guatemala, and Greece.

For the past seven years, Westberry has served at Evangelical Christian School as a Middle School Physical Education Teacher and Middle School Athletic Director.

He is also the Director of Basketball for SWFL Sports League, a youth sports program for kids aged 4 to 17.
