TESTING ,TESTING, 1, 2, 3
On March 5th, we will be holding the SAT on a school day for juniors who registered for the exam. ALL other juniors are expected to be in regular school attendance this day.
March 12th is our ACT on a school day for juniors and seniors who registered. ALL juniors and seniors who are not testing are expected to be in regular school attendance.
Neither of these testing days are school sanctioned College Visit Days or early dismissal days.
On March 12th, we will also be administering the PreACT to our freshmen and sophomores.
STUDENT ATTENDANCE
A missed school day is a missed opportunity for learning. PLEASE ensure that your student is in school unless they absolutely cannot be.

According to the Parent/Student Handbook that was signed at the beginning of the year, if a student accrues 10 or more absences (excused or unexcused) in a semester in any class, they are considered to have excessive absences. With quarter 3 quickly wrapping up, students who have reached that threshold or are close to reaching that threshold, will be receiving an email as an alert to monitor their attendance for the remainder of the school year.

I encourage you to check Renweb if you are in need of exact and up-to-date attendance information for your student(s). If you believe there is an error in your student’s attendance record, please reach out to Mrs. Allen in Student Services (callen@goecs.org).
