Head Girls Golf Coach
Dwayne Donnell

With a career defined by championship leadership and a passion for athlete development, Coach Dwayne Donnell brings a powerful blend of golf expertise and girls basketball triumphs to Evangelical Christian School.

The Golfer & Mentor

Coach Donnell’s love for golf extends far beyond the greens—it’s a discipline through which he teaches patience, focus, integrity, and humility. As head coach of the ECS Golf program, he guides both boys and girls to refine their swing, build mental toughness, and grow spiritually. Under his mentorship, student-athletes learn that success in golf is as much about character as it is about technique.

The Championship-Winning Basketball Coach

A Southwest Florida Basketball Hall of Famer, Donnell won the 2011 FHSAA Class 4A state championship at Dunbar High School during his 21-year tenure, a milestone marking the program’s first state title. After joining ECS, he led the Sentinels girls basketball team to a historic Class 2A state championship in 2024, finishing the season 26–3 and dominating the finals with a 57–46 win—the first girls title in ECS history. ECS continued its competitive excellence, securing a 2025 semifinal appearance, marking three straight Final Four runs.

“Our goal is to develop players of character who compete with purpose,” says Coach Donnell.

Balancing both sports, Coach Donnell continues to elevate ECS athletics—helping athletes grow in skill, faith, and Godly character. On the course or court, he is building a legacy of excellence, discipleship, and perseverance.
